Riccardo Civita, triestino, conosciuto anche come “Yane” è un breakdancer e rapper, che generalmente rimane nel mondo dell'Hip-Hop classico. Recentemente ha collaborato con Markus, beatmaker ex fondatore del collettivo triestino Katana Music, e ha pubblicato il singolo “Icaro”.
Pubblicato da Antieroi Dischi, il nuovo singolo di Yane assume un approccio più melodico e incorpora un suono moderno che fonde trap e indie pop. L'artista ha voluto raccontare frammenti sparsi di sentimenti quotidiani, trasmettendo un sentimento alle persone che gli sono vicine, ma concentrandosi anche su tutto ciò che gli manca.
“Icaro” è uscito l'8 ottobre ed è stato accompagnato da un video musicale.
Trieste-born Riccardo Civita, also known as “Yane” is a breakdancer and rapper, who generally stays in the world of classic Hip-Hop. Recently, he collaborated with beatmaker and former founder of the Trieste collective Katana Music, Markus, and released the single, “Icaro.”
Published through Antieroi Dischi, Yane’s new single takes on a more melodic approach, and incorporates a modern sound that melds trap and indie pop. The artist set out to tell scattered pieces of everyday feelings, conveying a feeling to the people who are close to him, but also focusing on everything he lacks.
“Icaro” was released on October 8 and was accompanied by a music video.
Cosa ti ha ispirato a diventare un musicista?
What inspired you to become a musician?
Mi sono appassionato alla break dance ed al mondo dell’Hip Hop da quando avevo 12 anni, mi ha stregato, il rap non andava ancora, era molto di nicchia, ma adoravo il modo in cui si improvvisavano le rime e il scrivere pensieri ed emozioni creando canzoni, da lì notai che il fare musica era la cosa che mi veniva più spontanea e mi dava più soddisfazione.
I have been passionate about break dance and the world of Hip Hop since I was 12, it bewitched me, rap was not yet, it was very niche, but I loved the way in which rhymes were improvised and the writing of thoughts and emotions creating songs, from there I noticed that making music was the thing that came to me most spontaneously and gave me the most satisfaction.
Quanti anni avevi quando hai iniziato a suonare?
How old were you when you started playing (music)?
A 15 anni già facevo qualche live locale, ma iniziai a stampare dischi e fare concerti fuori regione più seriamente a 19 anni.
At 15, I was already doing some local live shows, but I started printing records and doing concerts outside the region more seriously at 19.
Come descriveresti la tua musica?
How would you describe your music?
Ho provato a inserire influenze di ogni genere assieme al rap, in base a quello che ascoltavo, la mia musica la definirei un mix di stili, il raccontare le svariate cose della vita ma sempre accompagnate dalla strada, perché è da lì che la mia musica proviene!
I tried to insert influences of all kinds together with rap, based on what I listened to, my music I would define a mix of styles, telling the various things in life but always accompanied by the road, because that's where my music comes!

Where have you performed? Do you have any upcoming shows?
Per ora a causa covid le cose sono ferme, soprattutto da una piccola realtà come la città da cui provengo (Trieste) che offre solo qualche palco locale. Ho avuto la fortuna di esibirmi in vari posti culto dell’Hip-Hop del Nord Est ed ai Magazzini Generali di Milano ed al Forum di Assago.
For now, due to covid, things are at a standstill, especially from a small reality like the city I come from (Trieste) which offers only a few local stages. I was lucky enough to perform in various Hip-Hop cult places in the Northeast,the Magazzini Generali in Milan, and the Forum in Assago.
Dov'è il luogo del tuo concerto ideale?
Where would your ideal concert be?
L’ideale in un futuro sarebbe lo Stadio San Siro.
The ideal in the future show would be at the San Siro Stadium.
Qual è la tua canzone preferita da esibire?
What is your favorite song to perform?
A livello di energia e tecnica rap è “Tutto Gira”, molto hardcore, ma a livello emozionale direi tutte!
In terms of energy and rap technique, “Tutto Gira,” is very hardcore, but on an emotional level I would say all of them!

Which famous musicians do you admire?
Ammiro molto Marra e Salmo ma per ogni artista che abbia raggiunto qualcosa a livello di fama si ha qualcosa da ammirare!
I admire Marra and Salmo a lot, but for every artist who has achieved something in terms of fame, there is something to admire!
Qual è il miglior consiglio che ti è stato dato?
What is the best advice you’ve been given?
“Fai quello che ti piace fare, sii te stesso e sentiti te stesso”.
"Do what you like to do, be yourself and feel yourself."
Se potessi cambiare qualcosa nel settore della musica, quale sarebbe?
If you could change something about the Music Industry, what would it be?
Sicuramente mi piacerebbe ritornare ai vecchi valori che purtroppo ora a causa dei social si sono persi ma con la tecnologia di adesso, una volta eri bravo e apprezzato se ti facevi il culo, ora sembra che tutti possano diventare tutto solo con l’apparenza.
Surely, I would like to return to the old values that unfortunately have now been lost due to social media but with today's technology, once you were good and appreciated if you kicked your ass, now it seems that everyone can become everything only with appearances.
Qual è un messaggio che vorresti dare ai tuoi fan?
What is a message you would like to give to your fans?
Il messaggio attraverso i miei testi è sempre stato quello di imparare dai propri errori per diventare la migliore parte di sé. Per farlo devo raccontare dei miei errori e delle mie vittorie.
The message through my lyrics has always been to learn from your mistakes to become the best part of yourself. To do this I have to talk about my mistakes and my victories.

Ho la voglia matta di fare un album come un tempo, ma ora per chi è o è rimasto emergente è sempre più difficile.
I have the mad desire to make an album like in the past, but now for those who are or have remained emerging it is increasingly difficult.
