Nata in una famiglia di becchini nel 2000, Marta Chinello, conosciuta anche come “CHINNY”, è una cantautrice italiana. Cresciuta a stretto contatto con la morte, ha sviluppato una forte sensibilità ed empatia che l'hanno spinta verso la musica. All'età di otto anni, grazie ad un laboratorio di canto corale nella sua scuola, inizia a cantare, prima come solista e poi come frontwoman in diverse band.
I difficili anni dell'adolescenza di CHINNY le hanno dato molti spunti per iniziare a scrivere e comporre brani inediti, fino a quando nel 2015 ha iniziato il suo percorso come cantautrice, collaborando con Danilo Amerio, celebre autore di grandi successi come "Donna con te".
Dopo sei anni di formazione e lavoro di nascosto, CHINNY ha pubblicato il suo primo singolo, "L'ultima", su etichetta SENZA BASE Records nel novembre 2021. Questo pezzo è la prima canzone inedita che ha composto nel 2015.
Born into a family of undertakers in 2000, Marta Chinello, also known as “CHINNY,” is an Italian singer-songwriter. Growing up in close contact with death, she developed a strong sensitivity and empathy that pushed her towards music. At the age of 8, thanks to a choral singing workshop in her school, she began singing, first as a soloist and later as a frontwoman in several bands.
The difficult years of CHINNY’s adolescence gave her many ideas to start writing and composing unpublished songs, until in 2015. She started her path as a singer-songwriter, collaborating with Danilo Amerio, famous author of great successes such as "Donna con te."
After six years of training and working on the sly, CHINNY released her first single, "L’ultima", on the SENZA BASE Records label in November 2021. This piece is the first unreleased song she composed in 2015.

What inspired you to become a musician?
Passavo l’estate da mia nonna in campagna e ascoltavamo ogni giorno Vasco Rossi, cantando a squarciagola mentre pulivamo la casa; ma aneddoti divertenti a parte, alle elementari ho fatto un laboratorio di canto corale: sono rimasta affascinata dalla materia e ho iniziato a cantare.
I spent the summer with my grandmother in the countryside and listened to Vasco Rossi every day, singing out loud while we cleaned the house; but amusing anecdotes aside, in elementary school I did a choral singing workshop: I was fascinated by the subject, and I started singing.

How old were you when you started playing (music)?
A 10 anni feci la prima vera lezione di canto, e appena uscita dall’aula mia madre chiese all’insegnante se ne valesse la pena: ancora la ringrazio per aver risposto “Sì!”. Ho iniziato a suonare il Pianoforte e la Chitarra da autodidatta, ora sto prendendo lezioni; mi aiutano nella stesura dei miei pezzi.
At the age of 10 I had my first real singing lesson, and as soon as I left the classroom my mother asked the teacher if it was worth it: again, thank you for replying "Yes!" I started playing the Piano and the Guitar as a self-taught, now I'm taking lessons; they help me in the drafting of my pieces.

Ho calcato molti palchi, l’Alcatraz di Milano è il mio gioiello della corona al momento, e nel percorso artistico che ho intrapreso i live sono più dei contenuti online. Ho suonato con tre band diverse e in duo acustico, ma ora la tendenza sembra essere quella di spostarsi sui social. Mi sono adattata, ho aperto un canale YouTube e mi sono e pubblico cover più brevi su Instagram e TikTok. Pubblicare contenuti online ti permette di raggiungere molte persone, anche in altre nazioni… Ma il mio cuore appartiene comunque al palco.
I have walked many stages, the Alcatraz in Milan is my crown jewel at the moment, and in the artistic path that I have undertaken, live shows are more than online content. I've played with three different bands and in an acoustic duo, but now the trend seems to be to move to social media. I adapted, opened a YouTube channel, and posted shorter covers on Instagram and TikTok. Publishing content online allows you to reach many people, even in other countries… But my heart belongs to the stage anyway.
Dov'è il luogo del tuo concerto ideale?
Where would your ideal concert be?
Sogno il parterre pieno di persone a cui la mia musica è arrivata dritta al cuore; e sogno di poter lasciare i ritornelli vuoti in modo da farli cantare a squarciagola da chi mi è venuto a sentire. Poi c’è il sogno di mia madre: San Siro. Devo farla salire sul palco con tutti che gridano il suo nome… ma non sa cantare!
I dream of a parterre full of people to whom my music has reached straight to the heart; and I dream of being able to leave the refrains empty so that those who have come to hear me sing their hearts out. Then there is my mother's dream: San Siro. I have to get her on stage with everyone shouting her name… but she can't sing!
Qual è la tua canzone preferita da esibire?
What is your favorite song to perform?
Penso proprio che sarà questa, alla prima occasione la canterò sicuramente con tutta l’emozione di cui sono capace. Sul mio canale YouTube però c’è una cover di cui vado particolarmente fiera: “Don’t Start Now” di Dua Lipa in versione acustica. Ho trovato una base acustica registrata da un chitarrista filippino e mi sono subito innamorata, mi ha ispirata, il sound ha qualcosa di speciale e ho registrato una versione tutta mia.
I really think it will be this, at the first opportunity I will certainly sing it with all the emotion I am capable of. On my YouTube channel, however, there is a cover I am particularly proud of: “Don’t Start Now” by Dua Lipa in an acoustic version. I found an acoustic backing track recorded by a Filipino guitarist and I immediately fell in love, it inspired me, the sound has something special, and I recorded my own version.

Which famous musicians do you admire?
Sarebbe impossibile citarli tutti, ma ammiro soprattutto gli artisti che utilizzano la propria popolarità per aiutare il prossimo: non sempre dietro un grande artista c’è una grande persona, ma quando le cose vanno di pari passo mi emoziono.
It would be impossible to name them all, but I especially admire artists who use their popularity to help others: a great person is not always behind a great artist, but when things go hand in hand, I get excited.

What is the best advice you’ve been given?
“Studia.”
“Study.”
Se potessi cambiare qualcosa nel settore della musica, quale sarebbe?
If you could change something about the Music Industry, what would it be?
Sono una di quelle persone che se potesse tornare indietro nel tempo non lo farebbe, quindi non cambierei nulla. La musica, così come il suo settore, è sempre in evoluzione! Lo trovo stimolante.
I'm one of those people who if he could go back in time he wouldn't, so I wouldn't change a thing. Music, like its industry, is always evolving! I find it inspiring.
Qual è un messaggio che vorresti dare ai tuoi fan?
What is a message you would like to give to your fans?
Non sono ancora realizzata al punto da poter dispensare consigli di vita, ma se lo fossi, direi: “Bisogna essere testardi, inseguire i propri sogni, e bere molto caffè.”
I am not yet at the point of being able to dispense advice on life; but if I were, I would say, "You have to be stubborn, chase your dreams, and drink lots of coffee."

In cantiere c’è un album, dopo questo singolo ce ne sono molti altri pronti, e non vedo l’ora di farli uscire! Mi piace seguire ogni piccolo passo delle mie produzioni, curare i dettagli e lavorare cercando di dare sempre il 100%, quindi non mi sono ancora imposta scadenze, saranno i progetti a dirmi quando si sentiranno pronti!
There is an album in the works, after this single there are many others ready, and I can't wait to get them out! I like to follow every little step of my productions, take care of the details and work trying to always give 100%, so I haven't set deadlines yet, the projects will tell me when they feel ready!
