Antonio Feroleto, also known as “Efferre,” is a Calabrian singer-songwriter and producer, who has lived in Bologna for several years.
Over the years, Efferre has gravitated to the Bolognese club circuit, where he has worked in the electronic music scene. He has played together with international artists as FatBoy Slim, Ellen Allien, Seth Troxler, Martinez Brothers, and many others in venues such as Zona Roveri, Cocoricò, and Classic Club.
During this time, Efferre has refined his qualities as a producer by studying and experimenting with new types of sounds and mixing in more musical genres.
Efferre’s latest single, “Elisa,” was released on December 3, 2021.

Negli anni Efferre ha gravitato nel circuito dei club bolognesi, dove ha lavorato nel panorama della musica elettronica. Ha suonato insieme ad artisti internazionali come FatBoy Slim, Ellen Allien, Seth Troxler, Martinez Brothers e molti altri in locali come Zona Roveri, Cocoricò e Classic Club.
Durante questo periodo, Efferre ha affinato le sue qualità di produttore studiando e sperimentando nuovi tipi di suoni e mescolando in più generi musicali.

What inspired you to become a musician?

I have been working in the music business for a lot of years, I have been a DJ for a long time, the transition to making my own music came naturally.

How old were you when you started playing (music)?

I did some piano when I was little, from 5 to 8 years old, then I stopped. I picked up when I grew up in high school with the guitar and then started making my own beats during my college years.
Ho fatto un po’ di piano quando ero piccolo, dai 5 agli 8 anni poi ho lasciato. ho ripreso da grande durante le scuole superiori con la chitarra e poi iniziando a fare i miei beat durante gli anni universitari.
How would you describe your music?

A mix of different things and cultures, in a certain sense opposite to each other, the raw sound of electronics and Italian songwriting.

I think the first city I would choose is Bologna. I have lived here for many years and artistically, I grew up here. As a club, perhaps I would start at Covo, a historic club right under my house.
Penso che, come prima città, sceglierei Bologna, vivo qui da molti anni, artisticamente sono cresciuto qui. Come club forse partirei proprio dal Covo, club storico proprio sotto casa mia.
What is your favorite song to perform?

Which famous musicians do you admire?

I admire many people on the international electronic scene: Moderat, Trentemoller, Bonobo, Kalkbrenner but I also follow the Italian indie and rap scene. Also, I'm crazy about Billie Eilish.

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

Always do what you like in life and don't give a damn what others say.
Fai sempre quello che ti piace nella vita e fregatene digli altri.
If you could change something about the Music Industry, what would it be?
Se potessi cambiare qualcosa nel settore della musica, quale sarebbe?
It is a complex question, I don't know, perhaps the slightly backward mentality of the insiders, in other states the news is on the agenda, in Italy we are always the last to understand in which direction the world is headed. Think rap, here it arrived twenty years later and now that they understand how it goes, they all do the same thing while in the seats they are already over. I think it's a problem of society not just of music.
È una domanda complessa, non saprei, forse la mentalità un po' arretrata degli addetti ai lavori, in altri stati le novità sono all’ordine del giorno, in Italia siamo sempre gli ultimi a capire in che direzione va il mondo. Pensa il rap, qui è arrivato venti anni dopo e ora che hanno capito che va fanno tutti la stessa cosa mentre in al posti sono già oltre. Penso sia un problema proprio della società non solo della musica.
