Born in 2000, Christian Nazareno Pernaci, also known as “NAZARENO,” is an Italian singer-songwriter and musician from Caltanissetta. Currently living in Turin, he studies music and entertainment sciences. Music is not just a strength for him, but a need. It is a liberation from the complications of real life, the only way to express his emotions in moments when he finds himself alone. He has always dreamed of studying in a prestigious school and although he did not have the opportunity to do so, he worked in many sectors to try to make his dream come true.
NAZARENO was selected at the final castings of AMICI in the year 2021 for a challenge against a competitor inside the house. His single, "Sei Mesi," was released in May 2021, with RKH STUDIO (PROD. SAFE RKH, DIPA RKH), and distributed by ARTIST FIRST. He began 2022 collaborating with the producer DAVIDE TAGLIAPIETRA (produced by TIZIANO FERRO, GIANNA NANNINI, MARCO MENGONI), and the author of Curci Music Publishing, FEDERICO SAPIA.

What inspired you to become a musician?
Cosa ti ha ispirato a diventare un musicista?
The need to really express who I was, was a way to get in touch with people; I am quite introverted, and music has helped me in communication.
Il bisogno di esprimere realmente chi fossi, è stato un modo per entrare in contatto con le persone; sono abbastanza intro-verso e la musica mi ha aiutato nella comunicazione.
How old were you when you started playing (music)?
Quanti anni avevi quando hai iniziato a suonare?
I actually started quite early; I was about 3 years old spending the afternoons at karaoke with my amazing dad.
In realtà ho iniziato abbastanza presto, avevo circa 3 anni passando i pomeriggi al karaoke insieme al mio fantastico papà.
How would you describe your music?
Come descriveresti la tua musica?
I think my music can be described as a mix between the dreamlike and the concrete. These are the atmospheres that I try to create, because they reflect two very present sides of me, both the concrete part and the dreamer one. It is quite a unique combination, usually it is one or the other thing.
The melodies are clear and effective, immersed in a sound between electronic and enveloping and modern acoustics. The texts are fluid and romantic, they want to get straight to the meaning.
Penso che la mia musica possa essere descritta come un mix tra l’onirico e il concreto. Sono queste le atmosfere che cerco di creare, perché rispecchiano due lati di me molto presenti, sia la parte concreta che quella sognatrice. Si tratta di un connubio abbasta unico, solitamente si è l’una o l’altra cosa.
Le melodie sono chiare ed efficaci, immerse in un sound fra l’elettronico e l’acustico avvolgente e moderno. I testi sono fluidi e romantici, vogliono arrivare dritti al significato.

I participated in several festivals, sang in different clubs and I had the honor of being a guest at the MILAN FASHION WEEK 2022.

Where would your ideal concert be?
Dov'è il luogo del tuo concerto ideale?
I really like theaters and places indoors! In general, I prefer cozy and intimate environments over open ones. The audience can have more attentive listening and it is easier to connect.
Mi piacciono molto i teatri e i luoghi al chiuso! In generale preferisco gli ambienti raccolti e intimi rispetto a quelli aperti e dispersivi. Il pubblico riesce ad avere un ascolto più attento ed è più facile entrare in connessione.
What is your favorite song to perform?
Qual è la tua canzone preferita da esibire?
Currently "Sei Mesi," my single from last year. It has a romantic energy that reaches the listener very quickly.
Attualmente “Sei Mesi”, un mio singolo dell’anno scorso. Ha un’energia ro-mantica che arriva all’ascoltatore molto velocemente.
Which famous musicians do you admire?
Quali musicisti celebri ammiri?
FABRIZIO MORO is certainly the greatest inspiration. I think that always maintaining a similar combination of sensitivity and energy, is practically unrepeatable. After him, I like different artists, from rock to modern pop. In these passages I try to understand what is the part that made them so loved by everyone, the one in which everyone identifies themselves and therefore made them famous.
FABRIZIO MORO è sicuramente la massima ispirazione. Mantenere in ogni momento un connubio simile fra sensibilità ed energia penso sia praticamente irripetibile. Dopo di lui, mi piacciono diversi artisti, dal rock al pop moderno. In questi brani cerco di capire qual è la parte che li ha resi così amati da tutti, quella in cui tutti si immedesimano e che quindi li ha resi celebri.
What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Qual è il miglior consiglio che ti è stato dato?
Don't give up, keep taking baby steps without expecting miracles. Enjoy the journey without constantly thinking about the destination.
Non mollare, continua a fare piccoli passi senza aspettarti miracoli. Goditi il viaggio senza pensare costantemente alla destinazione.
If you could change something about the Music Industry, what would it be?
Se potessi cambiare qualcosa nel settore della musica, quale sarebbe?
There is an invasion of musical trash even on channels that in theory should be reserved for real music ... auto-tune in Sanremo trivially gives us an idea of what is happening.
C’è un’invasione del trash musicale anche sui canali che in teoria dovrebbero essere riservati alla musica vera… l’autotune a Sanremo banalmente ci dà l’idea di cosa stia succedendo.
