David Place è un cantautore e chitarrista folk nato a Melbourne, in Australia. L'amore di David per la chitarra nasce nel 2002, in seguito al suo trasferimento a Londra - nel nuovo piccolo appartamento, trova una chitarra acustica, dimenticata dal precedente inquilino, che diventerà la sua inseparabile compagna di avventure e composizioni. David inizia la sua carriera artistica tra street e club londinesi, conoscendo sonorità e generi diversi che lo porteranno a creare una propria identità musicale, fortemente contaminata da sonorità blues, pop, reggae e retrò.
Nel 2009, David ha fatto il suo debutto con il suo primo album, "Perfect Silence", seguito dal suo secondo album, "City in the South", l'anno successivo quando è tornato in Australia. Poco dopo essersi trasferito in Italia, ha iniziato a collaborare con A.MA Records mentre viveva a Bari. Nel 2018 ha pubblicato “Rollercoaster”, che è il primo disco realizzato in Italia e il terzo della sua carriera musicale.
Nel 2020, il blocco ha portato David a trovare un nuovo tempo da dedicare interamente alla sua musica. Il suo ultimo album, "Il vaso di Pandora", è uscito il 21 dicembre con il supporto della "Programmazione Puglia Sounds Producers 2020-2021", e prodotto da Trulletto Records in collaborazione con A.MA Edizioni (registrazioni, post-produzione ed edizioni musicali).
David Place is a singer-songwriter and folk guitarist born in Melbourne, Australia. David’s love for the guitar was born in 2002, following his move to London- in the small new apartment, he finds an acoustic guitar, forgotten by the previous tenant, which will become his inseparable companion in adventures and compositions. David began his artistic career between street and clubs in London, knowing different sounds and genres that will lead him to create his own musical identity, strongly contaminated by blues, pop, reggae and retro sounds.
In 2009, David made his debut with his first album, "Perfect Silence," followed by his second album, "City in the South," the next year when he returned to Australia. Shortly after moving to Italy, he began to collaborate with A.MA Records while living in Bari. In 2018 he released, “Rollercoaster,” which is the first record he made in Italy, and the third of his musical career.
In 2020, the lockdown led David to find new time to devote entirely to his music. His latest album, "Pandora's box," was released on December 21st with the support of the "Programmazione Puglia Sounds Producers 2020-2021," and produced by Trulletto Records in collaboration with A.MA Edizioni (recordings, post-production, and musical editions).

How old were you when you started playing (music)?
23 anni. Tardi lo so. Mi sono trovato con una chitarra che un ex coinquilino aveva lasciato nella stanza e non l'ho più mollata.
23 years old. Late I know. I found myself with a guitar that a former roommate had left in my apartment and never stopped.

Per adesso non c'è niente programmato perché non sappiamo se oppure quando possiamo uscire. Quando potrò ci sarò.
At the moment there is nothing planned because we don't know if or when we can go out. When I can, I'll be there.
Dov'è il luogo del tuo concerto ideale?
Where is your ideal place to perform?
Una taverna rustica con tutti dentro che ascoltano, senza amplificatore perché le acustiche naturali sono sufficienti.
A rustic tavern with everyone listening inside, without an amplifier because natural acoustics are sufficient.

Dei brani miei: "Voodoo" con la band; "Going Around The Bend" da solo.

Se potessi cambiare qualcosa nel settore della musica, quale sarebbe?
If you could change something about the Music Industry, what would it be?
Io credo che i musicisti, come tutti che vivono per l'arte, siano dimenticati per quanto riguarda il compenso vero di una peformance o un’uscita di un single/album, è un po’ complicato perché potrebbe facilmente di volvere in un argomento delle conseguenze di capitalismo. Comunque, se non cambiamo adesso, creare la musica sarà solo dall'elite.
I believe that musicians, like all who live for art, are forgotten as to the true compensation of a performance or a single / album release, it is a bit complicated because it could easily break into a topic of the consequences of capitalism... However, if we don't change now, making the music will only be for the elite.

What is a message you would like to give to your fans?
Quest’anno è stato brutto per tutti, ma ce l'abbiamo quasi fatta. Vedrete che goderemo ancora di più le esperienze con i nostri amici e la nostra famiglia che ci aspettano.
This year has been bad for everyone, but we almost made it there. You will see that we will enjoy even more the experiences with our friends and family that await us.

Mia figlia mi chiede sempre, papà ma quando farai il prossimo concerto? Quindi per lei sarebbe vivere un altro momento live.
