Mitumme è un cantautore con varie influenze musicali. Lo strumento principale con cui compone è la chitarra, ma le piace sperimentare vari generi e provare nuovi strumenti per dare il giusto suono a ciascuna delle sue canzoni. Dopo aver visto un tamburo giocattolo appeso in un negozio di giocattoli da bambina, ha suonato la batteria per un breve periodo all'età di 8 anni e ha iniziato a studiare chitarra a 15. A 17 anni ha deciso di ricominciare a suonare la batteria, il primo strumento che ha ispirato il suo amore per la musica.

A 20 anni, due anni dopo aver terminato il liceo, Mitumme ha sentito consapevolmente il bisogno di intraprendere il suo viaggio musicale come cantautrice, dopo aver iniziato a scrivere le sue prime canzoni all'età di 18 anni, subito dopo la sua gita al liceo a Lipari. Nascono così canzoni come "Poeta in Bicicletta", "Facebook" e "Semplicità di un istante", che erano nel suo primo album, "Generazione Sintetica".

Qualche anno dopo, Mitumme ha incontrato Francesco Catitti, produttore di grandi nomi come Michele Bravi, Elisa e Mahmood. Nel 2016 è entrata in studio per lavorare, in modo totalmente diverso e molto più professionale, all'EP "Aspettando Godot, vivo?" che è stato rilasciato più di 3 anni dopo, nel maggio 2019. È un EP con suoni pop elettronici incentrati sul concetto di raggiungere la felicità come unico obiettivo nella vita.

Attualmente, oltre ai tanti spettacoli dal vivo e alle collaborazioni con artisti provenienti da tutta Italia, Mitumme sta lavorando in studio alla Kate Academy di Roma al suo prossimo album.

Mitumme is a singer-songwriter with various musical influences. The main instrument with which she composes is the guitar, but she likes to experiment with various genres and try new instruments to give the right sound to each of her songs. After seeing a toy drum hanging in a toy store as a child, she played drums for a short time at the age of 8 and began studying the guitar at 15. At 17, she decided to start playing the drums again, the first instrument that inspired her love for music.

At 20, two years after finishing high school, Mitumme consciously felt the need to embark on her musical journey as a singer-songwriter, after starting to write her first songs at the age of 18, immediately after her high school trip to Lipari. This is how songs such as “Poeta In Bicicletta,” “Facebook,” and “Semplicità di un istante” were created, which were in her first album, “Generazione Sintetica.”

A few years later, Mitumme met Francesco Catitti, producer of big names like Michele Bravi, Elisa, and Mahmood. In 2016, she entered the studio to work, in a totally different and much more professional way, on the EP, “Aspettando Godot, vivo?” which was released more than 3 years later in May 2019. It is an EP with electronic pop sounds centered on the concept of achieving happiness as the only goal in life.

Currently, in addition to the many live shows and collaborations with artists from all over Italy, Mitumme is working in the studio at the Kate Academy in Rome on her next album.

Cosa ti ha ispirato a diventare un musicista?

What inspired you to become a musician?

Il mio primissimo approccio è stato in un negozio di giocattoli quando ho visto un rullante appeso al soffitto, avevo 3 o 4 anni e già volevo suonare la batteria! La mia ispirazione però sono stati i Simple Plan quando ho scoperto la loro musica ho capito che in qualche modo anche io volevo trasmettere delle emozioni e scrivere le mie canzoni.

My very first approach was in a toy shop when I saw a snare drum hanging from the ceiling, I was 3 or 4 years old and I already wanted to play the drums! But my inspiration was Simple Plan when I discovered their music I realized that somehow I too wanted to convey emotions and write my songs.

Quanti anni avevi quando hai iniziato a suonare?

How old were you when you started playing (music)?

Ho iniziato a 15 anni con la chitarra poi 16 con la batteria anche se quest’ultima ormai la suono molto poco per mancanza di tempo!

I started at 15 with the guitar then 16 with the drums even if the latter now I play very little due to lack of time!

Come descriveresti la tua musica?

How would you describe your music?

Un mix di influenze, perché vado a periodi e mi piacciono tantissimi generi diversi! Ma non saprei descriverla lascio questo compito a chi l’ascolta perché non vorrei mai darmi etichette di genere! Posso dire però che è musica tratta dalla mia vita, da tutto ciò che assorbo durante il giorno ma anche durante la notte!

A mix of influences, because I go to periods and I like many different genres! But I could not describe it, I leave this task to the listener because I would never want to give myself genre labels! But I can say that it is music from my life, from everything I absorb during the day but also during the night!

Dove ti sei esibito? Hai dei prossimi concerti?

Where have you performed? Do you have any upcoming shows?

Mi sono esibita principalmente a Roma che è la mia città! Per adesso causa Covid non ho concerti in programma ma non vedo l’ora di ricominciare a suonare sia nei locali che per strada!

I mainly performed in Rome which is my city! For now due to Covid I have no concerts scheduled but I can't wait to start playing again both in clubs and on the street!

Dov'è il luogo del tuo concerto ideale?

Where is your ideal place to perform?

Ovunque ci sia gente disposta ad ascoltare veramente le mie parole.

Wherever there are people willing to truly listen to my words.

Qual è la tua canzone preferita da esibire?

What is your favorite song to perform?

“La mia realtà” sicuramente è una delle canzoni che mi rappresentano di più e mi piace cantarla dal vivo.

“La mia realtà” is certainly one of the songs that represent me the most and I like to sing it live.

Quali musicisti famosi ammiri?

Which famous musicians do you admire?

Moltissimi, non saprei neanche da dove cominciare! Dai cantautori italiani come Dalla, De André, fino a Miles Davis passando per Chopin e produttori di musica elettronica come Avicii.

So many, I don't even know where to start! From Italian songwriters such as Dalla, De André, to Miles Davis through Chopin and electronic music producers such as Avicii.

Qual è il miglior consiglio che ti è stato dato?

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

Non saprei spesso i consigli migliori sono quelli che le persone non ti danno ma ti fanno capire indirizzandoti verso la giusta direzione! In realtà ogni consiglio è utile se ci permette di riflettere e migliorare noi stessi quindi direi che tutti i consigli sono buoni poi sta a te decidere quale strada intraprendere.

I don't know often the best advice is the one that people don't give you but they make you understand by pointing you in the right direction! In reality, any advice is useful if it allows us to reflect and improve ourselves so I would say that all the advice is good then it's up to you to decide which path to take.

Se potessi cambiare qualcosa nel settore della musica, quale sarebbe?

If you could change something about the Music Industry, what would it be?

Tutti i servizi di promozione a pagamento, noi indipendente siamo costretti a pagare qualsiasi servizio, non dico che tutto deve essere gratis ma ci sono troppe persone che giocano sul nostro sogno di trasmettere e divulgare la nostra musica, e sono rare le persone come voi che offrono un servizio gratuitamente e vi ringrazio per l’opportunità.

Qual è un messaggio che vorresti dare ai tuoi fan?

What is a message you would like to give to your fans?

Ma non ho un messaggio preciso da dare, spero di poter emozionare con le mie canzoni come mi emoziono ascoltando le canzoni che amo. Il messaggio è proprio la musica, l’arte di unire e non di separare!

I don't have a precise message to give, I hope to be able to excite with my songs as I get excited listening to the songs I love. The message is precisely the music, the art of uniting and not separating!

What’s next for you?

A breve uscirà il mio nuovo album che si intitola “Pop?” e a brevissimo uscirà il singolo che lo anticiperà che si chiama “Supereroi”, spero vi piacerà.

Soon my new album will be released which is titled "Pop?" and very soon the single that will anticipate it will be released, called “Supereroi”, I hope you will like it.
