Stefania Tasca, 27 anni, è una polistrumentista e cantautrice italiana di Torino. Dall'età di 9 anni Stefania ha intrapreso un percorso vocale jazz e dall'età di 11 anni ha studiato percussioni. In seguito, si è aperta alla chitarra, al basso, alla batteria e al pianoforte, tutti strumenti con cui si esibisce dal vivo.

Tra il 2011 e l'inizio del 2012, Stefania ha iniziato il suo progetto solista pubblicando il suo primo singolo, "Trust", con l'etichetta indipendente MDK RECORDS. L'anno successivo, nel 2013, parte per Londra e frequenta la TECH MUSIC SCHOOL per perfezionare la sua tecnica vocale e le capacità di composizione. Ha inoltre partecipato all'audizione per la prima edizione di "THE VOICE OF ITALY 2013", raggiungendo le fasi finali dei live. Nel luglio 2014, è stata inserita nella home page del sito di nuova generazione di MTV come l'artista "JUST DISCOVERED" della settimana.

Nel 2017 Stefania si è esibita con Marco Ligabue, e quell'anno è stata ospite del suo Tour. Nello stesso anno collabora con Matteo Brancaleoni al suo album "Made in Italy", con la partecipazione di Fiorello e Renzo Arbore.

Sotto il nome d'arte "Stephanya", nel 2018 Stefania ha pubblicato il suo singolo inglese, "Moody", con New Music International. Quell'anno era anche tra le 60 semifinaliste di Sanremo Giovani con il brano "Tu non sei più la stessa".

In quel periodo Stefania ha iniziato la sua carriera come produttrice e ha autoprodotto il nuovo EP "Come Quando Fuori Piove", uscito il 7 maggio 2019 nel suo studio di registrazione "Attic Records Torino", e lo ha presentato al Jazz Club registrando il primo "Sold Out" con la band al completo.

Nell'agosto 2019, Stefania ha partecipato al concorso promosso da Radio Deejay, "Deejay On Stage", salendo sul palco di Piazzale Roma a Riccione, raggiungendo le semifinali. Inizia anche la collaborazione con Fed Conti e forma il duo "La Boutique". Con La Boutique Stefania non abbandona la scrittura in inglese, e insieme producono canzoni e colonne sonore originali, inserendole in realtà internazionali. Con lo stesso progetto ha iniziato la sua carriera di autrice e compositrice con Fed Conti per il grande mercato asiatico, sotto Pitch Play Music, che collabora con alcune major come Sony.

Stefania ha pubblicato il suo album "Odio", nel marzo 2020, anch'esso autoprodotto, che nasconde temi contemporanei come pregiudizio, inadeguatezza, esasperazione e indifferenza. Nel settembre 2020 ha registrato il secondo "Sold Out" all'Hiroshima Mon Amour di Torino con la sua band affiatata al completo.

L'ultimo singolo di Stefania, "Vetro", è stato pubblicato il 28 gennaio 2021 e il video musicale ufficiale seguirà il 19 febbraio.

27-year-old Stefania Tasca is an Italian multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter from Turin. From the age of 9, Stefania embarked on a Jazz vocal path, and from the age of 11, studied percussion. She later opened up to guitar, bass, drums, and piano, all instruments with which she performs live.

Between 2011 and early 2012, Stefania began her solo project by publishing her first single, "Trust," with the independent label MDK RECORDS. The following year in 2013, she left for London and attended the TECH MUSIC SCHOOL to perfect her vocal technique and composition skills. She also auditioned for the first edition of "THE VOICE OF ITALY 2013," reaching the final stages of the live shows. In July 2014, she was featured on the home page of the MTV new generation website as the "JUST DISCOVERED" artist of the week.

In 2017, Stefania performed with Marco Ligabue, and was a guest on his Tour that year. Later that year, she collaborated with Matteo Brancaleoni on his album "Made in Italy," with the participation of Fiorello and Renzo Arbore.

Under the stage name, “Stephanya,” in 2018 Stefania released her English single, “Moody,” with New Music International. That year, she was also among the 60 semi-finalists of Sanremo Giovani with the song, "Tu non sei più la stessa."

During that time, Stefania began her career as a producer and self-produced the new EP "Come Quando Fuori Piove," released on May 7, 2019 at her recording studio "Attic Records Torino," and presented it to the Jazz Club recording the first "Sold Out" with the full band.

In August 2019, Stefania participated in the contest promoted by Radio Deejay, "Deejay On Stage," taking the stage of Piazzale Roma in Riccione, reaching the semifinals. She also began the collaboration with Fed Conti and formed the duo "La Boutique". With La Boutique, Stefania does not abandon her writing in English, and together they produce original songs and soundtracks, placing them in international realities. With the same project, she began her career as an author and composer with Fed Conti for the large Asian market, under Pitch Play Music, which works with some majors such as Sony.

Stefania released her album "Odio," in March 2020, which is self-produced as well, hiding contemporary themes such as prejudice, inadequacy, exasperation, and indifference. In September 2020 she recorded the second "Sold Out" at Hiroshima Mon Amour in Turin with her close-knit full band.

Stefania’s latest single, “Vetro,” was released on January 28, 2021, and the Official Music Video will follow on February 19.

Cosa ti ha ispirato a diventare un musicista?

What inspired you to become a musician?

Fare Musica è sempre stato un bisogno per me.

Tutto ciò che abbiamo intorno è musica: i passi, il rumore del traffico e anche i respiri.

Il respiro e le pause sono forse la parte fondamentale della Musica.

Making Music has always been a need for me.

All we have around us is music: the steps, the traffic noise and also the breaths.

Breathing and pauses are perhaps the fundamental part of Music.

Quanti anni avevi quando hai iniziato a suonare?

How old were you when you started playing (music)?

Mi prendono sempre tutti in giro per questa cosa, ma ho iniziato prima a cantare e poi a muovere i primi passi.

Ho questa vaga immagine di mia madre che mi ha fatta sedere su un bancone da piccola e mentre stendeva, ho iniziato a cantare una vecchia canzone di una pubblicità.

A 9 anni ho iniziato a seguire un corso di canto e da lì, ho avuto una preparazione improntata sul Jazz e ho studiato per 12\13 anni... in realtà non si smette mai di studiare.

They always make fun of me for this, but I started singing first and then took my first steps.

I have this vague image of my mother making me sit on a baby counter and as she laid out, I started singing an old song from an advertisement.

At the age of 9 I started taking a singing course and from there, I had a preparation based on Jazz and I studied for 12\13 years... you never really stop studying.

Come descriveresti la tua musica?

How would you describe your music?

La mia Musica è piena di influenze.

C’è una parte di me che è legata a tutto ciò che è internazionale e l’altra parte di me affezionata all’Italiano.

My music is full of influences.

There is a part of me that is linked to everything that is international and the other part of me fond of Italian.

Dove ti sei esibito? Hai dei prossimi concerti?

Where have you performed? Do you have any upcoming shows?

Ho avuto la fortuna di esibirmi in tanti contesti e questo mi ha permesso di farmi “le ossa”.

Prima ho iniziato a fare gli opening act di alcuni artisti (Carmen Consoli, Eiffel 65, Francesco Gabbani, Alexia etc...)

Ho cantato sul palco del Blue Note di Milano, che ha realizzato una parte del mio sogno.

L’ultimo concerto è stato all’Hiroshima Mon Amour con i miei musicisti prima della pandemia. E spero di poter tornare presto a suonare perché mi manca da morire!

I was lucky enough to perform in many contexts and this allowed me to make myself "the bones".

Before I started doing the opening acts of some artists (Carmen Consoli, Eiffel 65, Francesco Gabbani, Alexia etc...)

I sang on stage at the Blue Note in Milan, which fulfilled a part of my dream.

The last concert was at Hiroshima Mon Amour with my musicians before the pandemic. And I hope to be back playing soon because I miss him so much!

Dov'è il luogo del tuo concerto ideale?

Where is your ideal place to perform?

Il luogo del mio concerto ideale?

Non saprei... sogno un giorno di riempire uno stadio per scatenarci tutti, oppure un teatro enorme riarrangiando tutto in versione Orchestrale.

The ideal concert venue?

I don't know... I dream one day of filling a stadium to unleash us all, or a huge theater rearranging everything in an Orchestral version.

Qual è la tua canzone preferita da esibire?

What is your favorite song to perform?

Forse il mio brano preferito da suonare è Castelli di sabbia. Fa parte del mio ultimo album “Odio” e mi emoziona davvero molto.

Maybe my favorite song to play is Castelli di sabbia. It's part of my latest album "Odio," and it really excites me a lot.

Quali musicisti famosi ammiri?

Which famous musicians do you admire?

Ascolto davvero tanta musica nuova e vecchia.

Ci sono artisti che per me sono come idoli: se parliamo dell’internazionale, Sting è uno di quelli.

Mi piace tantissimo il tocco di John Mayer, adoro la sensualità di Joss Stone sul palco e la classe di Alicia Keys.

In Italia, ho sempre amato alla follia Elisa. Penso sia una cantautrice e musicista davvero completa ed è stata grande fonte d’ispirazione per tanti momenti della mia vita.

I really listen to a lot of new and old music.

There are artists who are like idols to me: if we talk about the international, Sting is one of them.

I really like the touch of John Mayer, I love the sensuality of Joss Stone on stage and the class of Alicia Keys.

In Italy, I have always loved Elisa to madness. I think she's a really complete singer-songwriter and musician and she's been a great inspiration for so many moments in my life.

Qual è il miglior consiglio che ti è stato dato?

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

Fra tutti i consigli, in realtà, la migliore lezione che ho imparato è quella di riuscire ad essere indipendenti.

Farsi il mazzo per imparare tante cose, essere curiosi e non fermarsi mai.

Of all the advice, in fact, the best lesson I've learned is to be independent.

Make the deck to learn many things, be curious and never stop.

Se potessi cambiare qualcosa nel settore della musica, quale sarebbe?

If you could change something about the Music Industry, what would it be?

Il settore musicale è cambiato ormai da tanto tempo. Mi piacerebbe che l’economia potesse far ancora poter sostenere i progetti nuovi di zecca, quelli sconosciuti che hanno da raccontare e non quelli che portano una sicurezza sulle vendite.

Mi piacerebbe che ci si possa appassionare di nuovo alla Musica, come una volta.

The music industry has changed for a long time. I would like the economy to still be able to support brand new projects, unknown ones that have to tell and not those that bring sales security.

I'd like you to get as passionate about Music again as you used to be.

Qual è un messaggio che vorresti dare ai tuoi fan?

What is a message you would like to give to your fans?

Vorrei semplicemente ringraziarli, i miei fan, per tutto il supporto che mi hanno dato in questi anni.

Tanti l’hanno fatto fin dall’inizio e tanti si sono aggiunti con il tempo. Spero possano non stancarsi mai della mia Musica.

I would just like to thank them, my fans, for all the support they have given me over the years.

Many have done so from the beginning and many have joined with time. I hope they can never get tired of my music.

Qual è il prossimo per te? (Prossimo Progetto)

What’s next for you?

Ci sono tanti progetti in corso. Sono entrata a far parte degli autori e compositori del grosso mercato Asiatico e lavoro tanto per l’estero. Pian piano, anche la mia carriera da produttrice sta prendendo una bella strada e non mi dispiacerebbe crescere sia da cantautrice, sia da produttrice.

Sto scrivendo brani nuovi e sto facendo molto lavoro in studio, ma non è esclusa la possibilità di realizzare delle live session con la band o materiale da far uscire prossimamente.

There are so many projects going on. I joined the authors and composers of the large Asian market and I work for abroad. Slowly, my career as a producer is also taking a good path and I would not mind growing up both as a singer-songwriter and as a producer.

I'm writing new songs and doing a lot of studio work, but the possibility of making live sessions with the band or material to be released in the near future is not excluded.
