Born in 1982, Simone Iaboni, also known as “Jaboni,” is an Italian singer-songwriter, interpreter, and architect. Born in Frosinone, he moved to Rome at the age of 20. It was there that he attended the Scarlatti Music Academy and participated in various local and national competitions, including the Tour Music Fest in 2017, and participated in the Music Camp at the CET of Mogol.
In 2018, Jaboni joined the Roman gospel choir "All Over Gospel Choir," with whom he performed in the theaters and stages of the capital. That same year, he became a member of the "Le Mani Avanti" choir directed by maestro Gabriele D'Angelo, with whom he participated in various singing events in Rome and Italy, such as the "Vokal Fest" at the Auditorium Parco della Musica. With them, during the lockdown, he participated in the creation of an a cappella cover of Des’ree's song, "You gotta be," broadcasted on Rai1 in the program "Musica che unisce".
Jaboni writes lyrics in Italian and English, and actively collaborates in the composition of songs with GIL produzioni, of the artistic producer Giorgio Lorito. His debut single, “Love comes back to me” produced by Giorgio Lorito for Gil Produzioni was released in April 2021. The song exceeded 50k streams on Spotify and the video clip was previewed on Sky Tg24 and aired on the Telesia screens of the major Italian metros and airports.
Jaboni’s second single, “Endless Time,” was released on December 3, 2021.

What inspired you to become a musician?

Music has always been present in my life. When I was a child, my parents listened to music all the time, and in my twenties, I realized that I loved singing and writing, so I realized that music would be part of my life forever.
La musica è sempre stata presente nella mia vita. Quando ero bambino i miei genitori ascoltavano musica continuamente, e intorno ai vent'anni ho realizzato che amavo cantare e scrivere, ho capito quindi che la musica avrebbe fatto parte della mia vita per sempre.
How old were you when you started playing (music)?
Quanti anni avevi quando hai iniziato a suonare?
I started playing guitar and percussion in my teens... a few years later I became aware of my voice.
Ho cominciato a suonare la chitarra e le percussioni in piena adolescenza... qualche anno dopo ho preso consapevolezza della mia voce.
How would you describe your music?
Come descriveresti la tua musica?
I believe that my music can be part of an electronic pop style that mixes orchestral soundtrack settings with the use of synths and analog sounds, casting an eye with melancholy at the international sound of a few decades ago.
Credo che la mia musica possa rientrare in uno stile pop elettronico che mescola ambientazioni orchestrali da colonna sonora all'utilizzo di synth e suoni analogici, buttando l'occhio con malinconia al sound internazionale di qualche decennio fa.

Since the release of the first single, “Love comes back to me,” in April 2021, I have had the opportunity to perform in some important clubs in the capital, as well as within some radio broadcasts. In January 2022 I participated with a couple of songs in an event at Le Mura, also in Rome. There will certainly be more over the next year.
Dall'uscita del primo singolo, “Love comes back to me”, ad aprile 2021, ho avuto l'occasione di esibirmi in alcuni locali importanti della capitale, oltre che all'interno di alcune trasmissioni radiofoniche. A gennaio 2022 ho partecipato con un paio di brani ad una manifestazione presso Le Mura, sempre a Roma. Ce ne saranno sicuramente altri durante il prossimo anno.
Where would your ideal concert be?
Dov'è il luogo del tuo concerto ideale?
There isn't a place I prefer, I like to perform everywhere, whether it's a club or a theater... surely the more I can stay close to the public the more I feel its energy, and this is what I love the most.
Non c'è un posto che preferisco, mi piace esibirmi ovunque, che sia un locale o un teatro... sicuramente più riesco a stare vicino al pubblico più sento la sua energia e questo è quello che amo di più.

Before going on stage, my producer Giorgio Lorito always tells me to think about what I'm singing while I perform, what I want to convey and do it with my heart.
Prima di salire sul palco, il mio produttore Giorgio Lorito mi ripete sempre di pensare a quello che sto cantando mentre mi esibisco, a quello che voglio trasmettere e farlo con il cuore.
If you could change something about the Music Industry, what would it be?
Se potessi cambiare qualcosa nel settore della musica, quale sarebbe?
I would change the fact that today everything depends on numbers and followers, sometimes at the expense of quality. You no longer invest because you always want to be on the safe side, and this is a shame.
Cambierei il fatto che oggi tutto dipenda dai numeri e dai followers, a discapito a volte della qualità. Non si investe più perché si vuole sempre andare sul sicuro e questo è un peccato.
What is a message you would like to give to your fans?
Qual è un messaggio che vorresti dare ai tuoi fan?
More than a message I would give advice, and that is to always find new music, always be curious and always give the new a chance. It takes patience and there is less and less of it today, everything goes in a hurry, the songs must have the chorus after a few seconds otherwise there is no attention, for the same reason the videos must last a couple of minutes ... let's stop for a moment and go back to giving music the time it deserves.
Più che un messaggio darei un consiglio, e cioè di trovare sempre nuova musica, di essere sempre curiosi e dare sempre una possibilità al nuovo. Ci vuole pazienza e ce n'è sempre meno oggi, tutto va di corsa, le canzoni devono avere il ritornello dopo una manciata di secondi altrimenti non c'è attenzione, per lo stesso motivo i video devono durare un paio di minuti ... fermiamoci un istante e torniamo a dare alla musica il tempo che merita.

I want to continue to publish my music, the two songs already released are part of a larger project that I intend to publish one piece at a time for the whole new year.
