Born in 1993, Eleonora Vella, also known as “Le Nora,” is an Umbrian singer-songwriter. She spent seven years in London, taking her to range from hard rock to reggae, performing unreleased underground projects on stages throughout the UK, as well as collaborating as an author for Mark Ronson's Tileyard studios.
During a solo trip to Thailand, “Le Nora,” Eleonora’s first solo project in her mother tongue (Italian), was born. Her voice is her main creative medium and inexhaustible energy is her strongest engine. Her sounds have a pop vein and an experimental aorta, punctuating the beat of her songs that exude life and sincerity, with the irreverence of those who no longer want to filter their feelings.
Le Nora has influences from Janis Joplin, Antonella Ruggiero, Gershwin, Battisti, Lauren Hill, Pink Floyd, Gorillaz, Billie Holiday, Chopin, Subsonica, and Beyoncé.
With her first release, “UNO DUE TRE E 4,” Le Nora conquered the curiosity and interest of the independent Italian scene. With her new song, “Interessante,” released in January 2022 by BabuZzle Sas, the artist revealed another aspect of her creative self in her career as a songwriter.

Ha trascorso sette anni a Londra, portandola spaziando dall'hard rock al reggae, eseguendo progetti underground inediti sui palchi di tutto il Regno Unito, oltre a collaborare come autrice per gli studi Tileyard di Mark Ronson.
Durante un viaggio da solista in Thailandia, nasce “Le Nora”, il primo progetto solista di Eleonora nella sua lingua madre (italiano). La sua voce è il suo principale mezzo creativo e l'inesauribile energia è il suo motore più forte. What inspired you to become a musician?
Cosa ti ha ispirato a diventare un musicista?
I think it was a combination of factors, when I realized I knew how to sing as a girl it seemed to me that I had discovered the wonderland, this sparked my curiosity and the desire to study and pursue this uphill path without re blackberries. Being on stage was the icing on the cake, I discovered the value and communicative power of music right away and this prompted me to research, improve myself and travel to discover everything that defines and increases me every day as a creative.
Credo sia stato un insieme di fattori, quando ho realizzato di saper cantare da ragazzina mi è sembrato di aver scoperto il paese delle meraviglie, questo ha acceso la mia curiosità e la voglia di studiare e perseguire questo percorso in salita senza re-more. Stare sul palco è stata la ciliegina sulla torta, ho scoperto il valore e la forza comunicativa della musica fin da subito e questo mi ha spinto a ricercare, migliorarmi e viaggiare alla scoperta di tutto ciò che mi definisce ed accresce ogni giorno come creativa.
How old were you when you started playing (music)?
Quanti anni avevi quando hai iniziato a suonare?
I started to approach singing since I was a child, with my family we spent the evenings singing the great successes of Italian music around my father at the piano.
I started my first band when I was 15 and from that moment, I realized that I couldn't do anything else in my life. The guitar came much later, I approached the instrument with the need for independence and writing.
Ho iniziato ad approcciarmi al canto fin da bimba, con la mia famiglia passavamo le serate a cantare i grandi successi della musica italiana intorno a papà al pianoforte.
Ho creato la mia prima band a 15 anni e da quel momento ho capito che non avrei potuto fare altro nella mia vita. La chitarra è venuta molto dopo, mi sono avvicinata allo strumento con la necessità di indipendenza e di scrittura.
How would you describe your music?
Come descriveresti la tua musica?
My music is like a jar of pills, I like to create small universes of stories united by the same musical box. I am very visual and incisive in the way I write lyrics; I love being pungent in the message and I like to write as if in a dialogue with the listener or the recipient of the piece.
On the contrary, music must create a sound paste full of groove, it must immerse me in an atmosphere that reflects me and my text.
La mia musica è come un barattolo di pillole, mi piace creare piccoli universi di storie accomunate dalla stessa scatola musicale. Sono molto visiva ed incisiva nel modo di scrivere testi, adoro essere pungente nel messaggio e mi piace scrivere come in un dialogo con l’ascoltatore o il destinatario del pezzo.
La musica al contrario deve creare una pasta sonora piena di groove, mi deve far immergere in un’atmosfera che rispecchia me ed il mio testo.

Le Nora is a new project, and the health emergency situation of these two years has not allowed me to carry my music around outside of small showcases in unconventional spaces such as co-working spaces or record shops.
In any case, I am taking advantage of this period to create a live situation that will make us fly in this spring 2022.
Le Nora è un progetto nuovo e la situazione di emergenza sanitaria di questi due anni non mi ha permesso di portare in giro la mia musica al di fuori di piccoli showcase in spazi anticonvenzionali come co-working spaces o negozi di dischi.
Ad ogni modo sto sfruttando questo periodo per creare una situazione live che ci farà volare in questa primavera 2022.
Where would your ideal concert be?
Dov'è il luogo del tuo concerto ideale?
In Italy I love realities like the Alcazar of Rome, I like direct contact with the public that becomes an integral part of my show in every situation. The location of dreams, however, is the Verona arena for that sense of tradition that distinguishes it. Furthermore, its architectural form combines the concept of recollection and closeness to the public with the emotion of the large stage.
In Italia adoro realtà come l’Alcazar di Roma, mi piace il contatto diretto con il pubblico che diventa parte integrante del mio show in ogni situazione. La location dei sogni però è l’arena di Verona per quel senso di tradizione che la contraddistingue. Inoltre, la sua forma architettonica unisce il concetto di raccoglimento e vicinanza al pubblico con l’emozione del grande palco.
What is your favorite song to perform?
Qual è la tua canzone preferita da esibire?
It is called “Insomnia” and it is still unpublished, it is the most personal song I have written in my life so far, it is dedicated to my sister and to our relationship well defined by the combination of Sun / Moon. “UNO DUE TRE E” 4 is the other song I prefer to play, my first single, it is so simple and catchy to follow that it involves any person in the audience.
Si chiama “Insomnia” ed è ancora inedita, è il brano più personale che ho scritto finora nella mia vita, è dedicata a mia sorella ed al nostro rapporto ben definito dal binomio Sole/Luna. “UNO DUE TRE E 4” è invece l’altro brano che preferisco suonare, il mio primo singolo, è così semplice ed orecchiabile da seguire che coinvolge qualsiasi persona nel pubblico.
Which famous musicians do you admire?
Quali musicisti celebri ammiri?
Speaking of the past, the imprinting on writing and interpretation I had with Janis Joplin, my musical idol par excellence. Of current musicians in the Italian scene, I deeply respect Serena Brancale as an interpreter and creative.
I listen to a lot of English and American music, there is a band that I have followed for years, which inspires me every day and which has transported me to fusion jazz / RnB, they are Hiatus Kaiyote.
Parlando del passato, l’imprinting sulla scrittura e l’interpretazione l’ho avuto con Janis Joplin, il mio idolo musicale per eccellenza. Di musicisti attuali nella scena italiana stimo profondamente Serena Brancale come interprete e creativa.
Ascolto tantissima musica inglese ed americana, c’è una band che seguo da anni, che mi ispira ogni giorno e che mi ha trasportata nel fusion jazz/ RnB, loro sono gli Hiatus Kaiyote.
What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Qual è il miglior consiglio che ti è stato dato?
Stay as you are; your originality lies in your spontaneity, and always ask for the maximum from yourself.
The first advice comes from my father, the second from my grandparents.
Before fully understanding both tips I had to get away from them, now they reflect me 100% and keep me in line with myself every day.
Resta come sei, la tua originalità sta nella tua spontaneità e chiedi sempre il massimo da te stessa.
Il primo consiglio viene da mio padre, il secondo dai miei nonni.
Prima di capire a fondo entrambi i consigli ho dovuto allontanarmene, ora mi rispecchiano al 100% e mi tengono in linea con me stessa ogni giorno.
If you could change something about the Music Industry, what would it be?
Se potessi cambiare qualcosa nel settore della musica, quale sarebbe?
The lack of meritocracy and, strange to say, a filter on what becomes popular. I believe that people's freedom to nominate artists and define their career and success with organic support is important, but at the same time I would like to see more commitment and freedom of the big labels to develop artists from scratch because they recognize them. They get the value out with an accurate and heartfelt A&R work.
La mancanza di meritocrazia e, strano a dirsi, un filtro su cosa diventa popolare. Credo che sia importante la libertà della gente di nominare artisti e definirne la loro car-riera e successo con un supporto organico, ma al tempo stesso vorrei vedere più impegno e libertà delle grandi etichette di sviluppare artisti da zero perché ne riconoscono il valore con un lavoro di A&R accurato e sentito.
What is a message you would like to give to your fans?
Qual è un messaggio che vorresti dare ai tuoi fan?
I would like to create a sense of union; the message is based on how perhaps every artist wishes to share what moves me from within and when others feel challenged by my words, I know I have hit the mark. I am a very sociable person and I love talking to others, my music is the most effective way to combine this aspect of mine with the most powerful art form: music.
Vorrei creare un senso di unione, il messaggio si fa come forse ogni artista desidero condividere quello che mi muove da dentro e quando gli altri si sentono interpellati dalle mie parole so di aver colto nel segno. Sono una persona molto socievole e adoro parlare con gli altri, la mia musica è il modo più efficace per coniugare questo mio aspetto con la forma d’arte più potente: la musica.

Qual è il prossimo per te?
The next project is the processing of new material in the studio and the creation of a live show that allows me to make myself known with all the energy I have.
I would also like to write in collaboration with other artists as an author, a job that I have always done in England where I trained and that I can't wait to experiment with Italian artists in my own language.
Il prossimo progetto è la lavorazione di nuovo materiale in studio e la creazione di un live show che mi permetta di farmi conoscere con tutta l’energia che ho.
Vorrei anche scrivere in collaborazione con altri artisti come autrice, lavoro che ho sempre fatto in Inghilterra dove mi sono formata e che non vedo l’ora di sperimentare anche nella mia lingua con artisti italiani.
