Consisting of Giuseppe Fuccio (vocals, guitar, and synth) and Giovanni Preziosa (guitar and synth), LeVacanze is a Samnite electro-pop duo who entered the record market in October 2017 with their self-titled debut EP, released by the Neapolitan record label Apogeo Records. The project was anticipated by the song, “Penelope,” (June 2017) which was chosen as the soundtrack of a reportage by Sky Arte, relating to “Notte Bianca,” held in Naples in the month of May.
LeVacanze made themselves known throughout the area thanks to their victory in the FarciSentire Contest 2017, which gave them the opportunity to share the stage of the important musical event with the likes of The Zen Circus, Fast Animals and Slow Kids, and Canova. They also participated in the sixteenth edition of Musicultura 2018, arriving at the live auditions in Macerata at the Teatro della Società Filarmonico Drammatica. They were also among the finalists in the Musica daBere competition and immediately following, were among the 12 finalists for 1M NEXT 2018 (official contest of the Primo Maggio Concert in Rome) and the winners of AREZZO WAVE LOVE FESTIVAL CAMPANIA 2018.
In 2019, LeVacanze began their partnership with the Bolognese label Manita Dischi, and entered the studio to record their first album, “VerMissAge,” recorded at the Deposito Zero Studios in Forlì and includes the collaboration of Francesco Pontillo. The album was released on December 3, 2021.

Nel 2019 LeVacanze inizia la collaborazione con l'etichetta bolognese Manita Dischi, ed entra in studio per registrare il loro primo album, “VerMissAge”, registrato presso i Deposito Zero Studios di Forlì e che vede la collaborazione di Francesco Pontillo. L'album è stato rilasciato il 3 dicembre 2021.
How was your group formed?
Come è stato il vostro gruppo formato?
The project "LeVacanze" was born years ago, we met playing together in a pop rock band. During the same period, we both attended the Benevento Conservatory but within those walls we met a few times. With the end of that experience, we felt the need to embark on a new path, as a duo, dedicating ourselves to the creation of unpublished works. Over time we artistically contaminated each other and produced an EP at home. We take care of the creative and production part, other friends/musicians also collaborate for the live performances.
Il progetto “LeVacanze” nasce anni fa, ci siamo conosciuti suonando insieme in una band pop rock. Nello stesso periodo frequentavamo entrambi il conservatorio di Benevento ma all’interno di quelle mura ci siamo incrociati poche volte. Con la fine di quell’esperienza abbiamo sentito l'esigenza di intraprendere un nuovo percorso, in duo, dedicandoci alla creazione di inediti. Col tempo ci siamo contaminati artisticamente a vicenda e abbiamo prodotto un EP in casa. La parte creativa e di produzione la curiamo noi, per i live collaboriamo anche altri amici/musicisti.
Where did you get the idea of the name of your group?
Dove avete avuto l'idea del nome del vostro gruppo?
We got the idea of the name in the period of writing the songs of the first EP. Texts and music suggested a post-summer vacation return atmosphere and therefore we wanted to somehow retain this feeling also in the name of the project. From there we decided, “LeVacanze.”
L’idea del nome l’abbiamo avuta nel periodo di scrittura dei brani del primo EP. Testi e musica ci suggerivano un’atmosfera da ritorno post vacanza estiva e quindi volevamo in qualche modo trattenere questa sensazione anche nel nome del progetto. Da lì abbiamo deciso “LeVacanze”.
How is your music written?
Come viene scritta la vostra musica?
Each piece has its own path, over time we realized that perhaps it is better not to create constraints or boundaries during the creative activity, on the contrary to try to enhance all those ideas that seem valid to us and develop them consistently. For this reason, some of the songs on this album were born from a simple guitar or piano riff improvised during a session and others from a written draft. The important thing is that at the end of the production process both scripts have a truthful meaning and that they dialogue well together.
Ogni brano ha un suo percorso, col tempo ci siamo resi conto che forse è meglio non crearsi vincoli o confini durante l’attività creativa, al contrario cercare di valorizzare tutte quelle idee che ci sembrano valide e svilupparle con costanza. Per questo motivo alcuni brani di questo disco sono nati da un semplice riff di chitarra o di piano improvvisato durante una session ed altri da una bozza di testo scritta. L’importante è che alla fine del processo di produzione entrambe le scritture abbiano un senso veritiero e che dialoghino bene insieme.
How would you describe your music to a new listener?
Come descrivereste la vostra musica a un nuovo ascoltatore?
After all, we don't even know. We put a lot of our stories into the songs, they are very personal songs. the fascinating trait of music is that everyone can recognize a part of themselves in a phrase or keyboard pad. It is a primordial belief that frees us from having to do things according to strategic rules. We try every time to create the right musical "dress" for the words we write.
In fondo non lo sappiamo nemmeno noi. All’interno dei brani mettiamo tanto delle nostre storie, sono canzoni molto personali. il tratto affascinante della musica è che ognuno può riconoscere una parte di sé in una frase o in pad di tastiera. È una convinzione primordiale che ci libera dal fatto di dover fare le cose secondo canoni strategici. Cerchiamo ogni volta di creare il giusto “abito” musicale per le parole che scriviamo.
What image do you think your music conveys?
Quale immagine pensate che trasmetta la vostra musica?
We write a lot using images. It is essential for us to convey to our listeners the same feelings we have when we produce the songs. We would like to strengthen the image/sound binomial even in the future, the possibilities are endless, and this amuses us a lot especially in the creative phase. We often combine abstract images and everyday life, even if the theme of travel is recurring, not only as a physical movement but also a movement of personal growth between the dynamics of life.
Scriviamo molto utilizzando le immagini. È fondamentale per noi trasmettere a chi ci ascolta le stesse sensazioni che abbiamo quando produciamo le canzoni. Vorremmo sempre più rafforzare il binomio immagine/suono anche in futuro, le possibilità sono infinite e questo ci diverte molto soprattutto in fase creativa. Abbiniamo spesso immagini astratte e vita quotidiana, anche se è ricorrente il tema del viaggio, non solo come spostamento fisico ma anche movimento di crescita personale tra le dinamiche di vita.
What other bands inspire your music?
Quali altre band ispirano la vostra musica?
There are many artists who have influenced our way of making music over time, from the world of songwriting to the strictly guitar world up to electronics. Among the international ones: Beatles, Bowie, Radiohead, The Killers, Foals, Metronomy. Among the Italians: Battisti, Battiato, Dalla, Bluvertigo. The background starts from there and it was more than anything else formative in terms of musical and cultural path. We often find ourselves mixing the plays of the "past" with contemporary artists where we find very beautiful things. We listen to a lot of music; it is a continuous and visceral sound research for those who live by this.
Sono tanti gli artisti che hanno influenzato nel tempo il nostro modo di fare musica, dal mondo cantautorale a quello strettamente chitarristico fino all'elettronica. Tra quelli internazionali: Beatles, Bowie, Radiohead, The Killers, Foals, Metronomy. Tra gli italiani: Battisti, Battiato, Dalla, Bluvertigo. Il background parte da lì ed è stato più che altro formativo in termini di percorso musicale e culturale. Ci ritroviamo spesso a mescolare gli ascolti del “passato” con artisti contemporanei dove troviamo cose molto belle. Ascoltiamo tantissima musica, è una ricerca sonora continua e viscerale per chi vive di questo.

Dove vi siete esibiti?
After the 2017 EP we were often out and about. We have had the pleasure of playing in various festivals such as MISH MASH, FARCISENTIRE, DISORDER and many others. Even the experiences of MUSICULTURE, MUSIC TO DRINK, 1M NEXT for the concert on May 1st where we reached the final among many productions, were very pleasant moments. We started by also opening for artists we respect a lot: Canova, Giorgio Poi, Liede etc. Now that there is a chance to play, we will shortly announce the first dates of the new tour. We want to get back into that real sharing bubble as soon as possible.
Dopo l’EP del 2017 eravamo spesso in giro. Abbiamo avuto il piacere di suonare in vari festival come il MISH MASH, FARCISENTIRE, DISORDER e tanti altri. Anche le esperienze di MUSICULTURA, MUSICA DA BERE, 1M NEXT per il concerto del Primo Maggio dove siamo arrivati in finale tra tantissime produzioni, sono stati dei momenti molto piacevoli. Siamo partiti facendo anche opening ad artisti che stimiamo molto: Canova, Giorgio Poi, Liede ecc. Ora che c’è possibilità di suonare, annunceremo a breve le prime date del nuovo tour. Vogliamo ritornare in quella bolla di condivisione reale il prima possibile.
How would you describe a typical day in the studio?
Come descrivereste una tipica giornata in studio?
First there must be food, we are fans of good food. I'm not joking (laughs). We don't have a routine. We happen to start from an idea of any kind, of instrument or electronics and develop it until it creates the feeling we are looking for. In the studio, every small change can lead to multiple directions, and we often let ourselves be overwhelmed by this "risk" otherwise it becomes an office job. With instruments in hand, we play for hours and then we record what we like. If the day is favorable, words are born too. We carry out the creation phase at home, in the home studio, in the time we need, with amps in the bathroom and cables lying around everywhere.
Per prima cosa ci deve essere da mangiare, siamo fan del buon cibo. Non scherzo(ride). Non abbiamo una routine. Ci capita di partire da un’idea di qualsiasi genere, di strumento o di elettronica e svilupparla fino a quando non ci crea la sensazione che cerchiamo. In studio, ogni piccola modifica può portare a molteplici direzioni e noi ci lasciamo spesso travolgere da questo “rischio” altrimenti diventa un lavoro d’ufficio. Con strumenti alla mano suoniamo anche per ore e poi registriamo quello che ci piace. Se la giornata è favorevole nascono anche le parole. La fase di creazione la svolgiamo in casa, in home studio, col tempo che ci serve, con gli ampli in bagno e i cavi in giro ovunque.
What are you working on right now?
A cosa state lavorando adesso?
Now that the record is out, we will spend a lot of time preparing for the concerts. We will leave Milan on December 17th at the Arci Bellezza and then other dates. We can't wait to leave, to be around as much as possible and also to give shape to new things.
Ora che è uscito il disco dedicheremo molto tempo alla preparazione dei concerti. Partiremo da Milano il 17 Dicembre all’Arci Bellezza e poi altre date. Non vediamo l’ora di partire, di stare in giro il più possibile e di dare forma anche a nuove cose.
What do you do when you're not playing?
Cosa fate quando non suonate?
We make a living, we go out and have fun, like everyone else! We work on productions that we like; music is something you never put aside, even when you're out and about or at dinner. it is an invisible weapon you know you can rely on at any time, regardless of the context. You talk to us, you go to bed or on a trip, it is a thread that binds everything that happens to us.
Ci guadagniamo da vivere, usciamo a divertirci, come tutti! Lavoriamo a produzioni che ci piacciono, la musica è una cosa che non metti mai da parte, anche quando sei in giro o a cena. è un’arma invisibile su cui sai di poter far affidamento in qualsiasi momento, indipendentemente dal contesto. Ci parli, ci vai a letto o in viaggio, è un filo che lega tutto ciò che ci capita di vivere.
